Data Deletion Instructions

ShortSnap respects your right to control your personal data and is committed to processing data deletion requests in a transparent and compliant manner.

1. How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your ShortSnap account and associated data through one of the following methods:

• From within the app settings (if available), or
• By sending an email request to:

2. Information Required

To verify your identity and process your request, include:

• The email address linked to your ShortSnap account
• Any additional details necessary to confirm account ownership

3. Verification Process

For security purposes, we may request additional verification before processing deletion requests to ensure that the request is made by the account owner.

4. Processing Time

Valid and verifiable requests are processed within 30 days. In most cases, deletion occurs sooner.

5. What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification, the following data will be permanently deleted:

• Account information (such as email address)
• Saved links and references
• User-created titles, notes, collections, and tags
• Preferences and associated metadata
• Stored embed metadata (title, thumbnail, provider name)
• Any other data associated with your account

6. Partial vs Full Deletion

Users may delete individual saved items directly within the app. Full account deletion removes all associated data permanently.

7. Data Retention Exceptions

Certain minimal data may be retained for a limited period where required for:

• Legal obligations
• Fraud prevention and security purposes

8. Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Data

ShortSnap does not store private Facebook or Instagram content.

• Only limited metadata retrieved via official Meta oEmbed is stored
• This metadata is deleted when content is removed or the account is deleted
• No Meta data is retained independently of user actions

9. Third-Party Content Disclaimer

All third-party content remains hosted on external platforms. ShortSnap cannot delete or control data stored by third-party services.

10. Irreversibility of Deletion

Once deletion is completed, all data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

11. Confirmation

You may receive a confirmation email once your data deletion request has been completed.
